Fil Mottola, a former Walt Disney artist, is now being viewed by the five major galleries in New York City, along with HSBC Asset Manager Marc Adel, acquisition price for Mottola Abstracts has now reached $297 million.
Fil Mottola was a World War II veteran and Disney artist on Sword in The Stone, Sleeping Beauty. At 67 years old, Fil Mottola opened a gallery on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, California. Mottola fulfilled his lifelong dream at the end of his career of painting abstracts. While Pollock, De Kooning and other abstract notables were painting and honing their craft, Mottola was in the South Pacific at Guadalcanal fighting the Japanese. Wounded and a victim of Malaria, he was shipped home. After many years of recovery, he finally landed a job at Walt Disney Studios where he worked for 12 years.
Mottola abstracts which were inspired by the “Art Spirit” are now being praised by the art community. A single Mottola abstract painting on newspaper can bring as much as $5.2 million. It seems that Mottola is finally taking his place among his contemporaries and the other great abstract painters. After the dark days of COVID and now with the war in Ukraine, hopefully Mottola’s Abstracts will shed a little bit of light. Mottola abstracts are capable of taking us from thie world, launching us to the core of creation from where all life came. With his colors and movement you see the many facets of God. It gives us hope and peace for tomorrow, and brings Gods goodness into the world.
Fil Mottola's Philosophy : "Creating a painting isn't just a job. Its my way of life. There is no middle ground. Its all of nothing. Every stroke counts. If a scene or idea resonates with me, Im in, totally passionate and fully invested. If it doesn't, I just dont paint it. I believe when you paint with real passion and didication, you can feel the and soul of the painting"
